Another major
achievement of Mo Abudu is The Protea Hotel, Oakwood Park which
was commissioned in August 2004.
The Protea Hotel, Oakwood Park, situated along the Lekki
Expressway is the first new build hotel of its type ever in
Nigeria.
The Protea Hotel, Oakwood Park is set on over 1 hectare of land,
comprising of:
- A specialist executive
centre with 10 training rooms, 12 syndicate rooms equipped
with state of the art training and conference facilities,
sitting between 10 – 300 delegates.
- A hotel complex of 65 rooms,
comprising of standard twin and queen rooms and 3 king suites.
- A 120 seater state of the
art restaurant.
- Leisure facilities to
include a gym, swimming pool, sauna and elaborate landscaped
areas.
Mo’s concept for the Protea Hotel, Oakwood Park from day one was
to achieve a facility that provides services to meeting the
changing needs of professionals who want the serenity of a
suburban location, well equipped dedicated training and
conference facilities and the comfort of executive accommodation
and leisure. The flexibility in meeting these needs is the key
element of both the program and design of the Protea Hotel,
Oakwood Park.
Prior to sourcing for additional investors to get the project
started, the responsibility for the location, the design of the
facility, obtaining governor’s consent, obtaining planning
approval, sourcing for a well respected Hotel Group to manage
the complex all rested on the shoulders of Mo Abudu.
Today, the Protea Hotel, Oakwood Park plays host to serious
business events, conferences, workshops and training courses.
