Inspire Africa is the brain child of Nigerian business woman and role model Mo Abudu. Inspire Africa has been created as Africa's first edutainment company. It is a company designed to inspire, educate, motivate and entertain.

Inspire Africa is about creating credible media driven platforms through which we can engage ourselves and the world to achieve effective and lasting change in our continent in the areas of leadership, entrepreneurship, education, health, development and empowerment.

The anchor project of Inspire Africa is the Moments with Mo; a daily talk show programme hosted by Mo Abudu and aired on MNet across 48 African countries and on Free to Air Channels by the end of 2008

The Inspire Africa Foundation is the human investment arm of Inspire Africa where we give back to society. The role and work of Inspire Africa would not be complete if we did not do something tangible to meet Africa at her point of need. Having engaged ourselves and the world, we as Africans must become actively involved in creating the change that we want. Whereas we appreciate the help that we have received thus far from the developed world, UN agencies, donor agencies and philanthropists, the time has now come for Africa and Africans to play a more active role in harnessing our resources to help our own.

Our founder, Mo Abudu has said that “Inspiration propels vision and great vision propels action”.

At Inspire Africa we are obsessed by this one fact: vision alone is not enough. We must DO something For too long, the western media has portrayed Africa as the dark continent of the 5D's:

How can Africa actively engage itself in the world stage when it is continually portrayed by the west as the helpless and hapless continent ravaged by these 5D's?How can Africa take charge of her destiny and provide an African response to these issues?

Many successful Africans, African Americans etc, want to help but are not sure how. Where can Africans and others who want to make a rea

alleviate the suffering caused in our own continent by these 5D's?

Inspire Africa Foundation has been created as a response to these questions. Inspire Africa foundation is the beacon of hope to effect change in Africa through the harnessing of resources for human investment. At the Inspire Africa Foundation we intend to put Africa back on the world map and portray a different side of Africa - an Africa where we can take charge of our future by addressing the devastating effect of these 5D's through home- grown human investment initiatives;

an Africa where we no longer wait for others to solve our problems. It is time to show the world what we have known for a long time - that Africa does have the resources and the know how to address our unique humanitarian issues in a unique and African way. We at the Inspire Africa Foundation

The Inspire Africa Foundation has been created as a platform for response to the 5Ds' of Disease, Despair, Destruction, Disaster and Destitution.

The Foundation is a non-profit organization that aims to fundraise and harness resources primarily from Africa to implement programmes and achieve effective and lasting change in our continent.

Inspire Africa Foundation's goal is to make a difference in the lives of Africans who are victims of the 5D's - Disease, Despair, Destruction, Disaster and Destitution. Inspire Africa Foundation is about changing lives and making dreams come true.

Inspire Africa Foundation is an African response to an African problem. The time has come to change the continent of Africa from despair to hope, from lack to abundance, from failure to success and from potential to realization.

Inspire Africa Foundation is by Africa. For Africa.

The 10 principles below reflect Inspire Africa Foundation beliefs on philanthropy and the impact we would like this foundation to have. The principles guide what we do, why we do it, and how we do it.
These principles are fundamental to the way we work.

We are an African foundation and we are driven by the interests and passions of Africa as expressed by Inspire Africa.

Our focus is clear, limited - and prioritizes the issues in
Africa as we see them - Disease, Despair, Destruction, Disaster and Destitution.

We are fundraisers, idea shapers, implementers and partners. We implement our own programmes and initiatives and do not necessarily rely on others to act and implement.

We identify a specific point of intervention and focus all our efforts to effect desired change.

We take risks, we innovate, we are creative and we move with a great sense of urgency. We are in this for the long haul.

Whereas science and technology have great potential to improve lives around the world; we believe that in Africa, the most effective solutions are the simplest and least complex. We are committed to finding and availing simple cost-effective solutions for Africa.

We advocate - vigorously but responsibly - in our chosen areas of intervention.

Our benefactors are our valued partners without whom we would not be able to do what we do.

We are sensitive to the needs of our beneficiaries and we treat them with utmost respect and consideration.

Delivering results with the resources and funding that we receive is of paramount importance to us. We are fully accountable and seek to share information on funding and results.
